First automated price list at MAX FRANK

MAX FRANK has taken a decisive step towards increasing efficiency by implementing the crossbase PIM system. Within a very short space of time, a solution was implemented that creates complex price lists and tables quickly and accurately thanks to automation. The flexible, expandable solution enables the company to prepare product information clearly and in multiple languages - a solid basis for its future international orientation.

We wanted to come to a result quickly and prepared the introduction well. In cooperation with crossbase, we specified our expectations, implemented the solution and thus reached the desired goal on schedule.

Initial situation

During the introduction of the crossbase PIM system, MAX FRANK and crossbase demonstrated what is possible through good cooperation and excellent planning. Within just four months, the requirements were researched, the data was transferred from the ERP system to the crossbase database and the productive phase began. As a result, the first extensive price lists could be created automatically via crossbase immediately after the training courses on data maintenance and print production.

MAX FRANK benefited from the modular structure of the crossbase solution and was thus able to quickly implement an optimal solution. In the first step, the focus was only on the print area, but the online catalog has now also been implemented with crossbase.

Procedure

The automation of many functions simplifies the creation of complex tables and thus saves an enormous amount of time. Both table page sections with flow frames and wrapping tables as well as matrix tables with multiplied price list variant articles can be produced. However, the automated creation of sophisticated editorial page spreads with text and images was also used - particularly in the production of product range lists and brochures.

PDF bookmarks are created via the headings and subheadings. The table of contents with cross-references makes it possible to go directly to the product in the PDF via the page numbers. Cross-references in the body text are also taken into account.

The use of the crossbase.trans module makes it easy to determine translation requirements. The price lists, product range lists and brochures are translated in the MAX FRANK branches using the web interface for data maintenance - crossbase.web.

The result

Thanks to the crossbase solution, MAX FRANK works efficiently and saves a large part of the time and therefore costs for print production. The documents are filled with product information from the PIM system, which is always up to date. The reuse of data reduces the susceptibility to errors and translations can be easily carried out in the company's national branches.
