Integration of BIM information in CAD models

crossbase provides you with a fully integrated database that centrally manages all media and sales channels. The important topic of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is also fully covered - in particular the provision of CAD and BIM data formats for your products.

As a manufacturer of construction elements and supplier for building technology, you create 3D CAD production drawings for every component. However, architects and planners usually require simplified CAD data that is limited to external geometry and installation dimensions. This is where our partner KiM comes into play!

The CADClick software and associated services enable optimized preparation of this data. The advantage: The drawings are created CAD-neutral and are therefore compatible with all common CAD systems.

Specific product features and texts from the PIM system are also required for the provision of BIM data formats. The scope of the data depends on the required level of detail (LOD). With the help of the existing crossbase CADClick interface, BIM-relevant product information can be automatically integrated into the CAD model and continuously updated - in different languages if required, depending on the target country. This interface is based on the crossbase API server with REST services to guarantee real-time processing.

The result: files in standardized IFC format that include the 3D CAD model as well as manufacturer-specific product features and texts.

In addition, crossbase enables mapping between manufacturer-specific product features and BIM standard classifications. This includes common BIM classifications such as IFC, Uniclass and Omniclass as well as established industry classifications such as ECLASS and ETIM - an area in which crossbase has over ten years of experience.
