Meusburger is the international market leader in high-precision “standard parts” for tool, mold, and machine manufacturing. But Meusburger doesn’t just sell parts. Not only because of the quality of its products, but also because the company thinks proactively and tailors solutions so that they truly work in everyday use. So it was only a matter of time before crossbase and Meusburger came together. As the saying goes: “Great minds think alike.”

The collaboration began with a very simple request: Meusburger wanted a new online store for workshop supplies. But even during the initial discussions, it became clear that there was much more to this project than met the eye—and that the crossbase PIM system could offer Meusburger significantly more.

 

Since Meusburger had already had a bad experience with another PIM system, it was all the more important not just to talk about possibilities and features, but to make them tangible. That’s exactly what we achieved with a prototype and an on-site workshop. Suddenly, it became clear how much easier data maintenance can be when information doesn’t have to be managed in multiple places simultaneously, but instead converges in a central location. Skepticism turned into interest. And what started as a shop project evolved into something much bigger.

Gradually, a central database took shape, which today feeds the website, shop, media service, and print media. Data for more than 80,000 items is automatically imported from the ERP system and enriched there with additional information, images, documents, and text. Accessible worldwide, available in 20 languages. What used to be laboriously distributed and consequently prone to errors is now consolidated, clearly structured, and much easier to manage. This was particularly impressive in print: a flagship project was the 1,038-page Meusburger product catalog. It is precisely on this scale that the true potential of centralized data maintenance and automated workflows becomes apparent—high quality, consistent content, and an easily manageable production process.

With the crossbase solution, Meusburger has significantly advanced its internal digitization efforts, simplified processes, and capitalized on new opportunities early on. But perhaps the best indication of this success is how seamlessly the system now operates as part of everyday work. Meusburger has become so proficient with it that many tasks can now be handled internally. And crossbase steps in whenever technical fine-tuning is required. For us, that’s perfect teamwork.
